Sleet, polar temperatures for BA City, province
Buenos Aires City and province woke up to yet another cold morning today as thermometers held polar temperatures and sleet was reported on some parts of the Capital and outskirts. The chill factor reached a record low for the year at -2.7 below zero.
According to information released by the National Meteorology Service (SMN), a cold wave coming from the Patagonia reached the Buenos Aires region today as well as the mid section of the country.
The neighborhoods of Palermo, Barracas, Caballito and Almagro and several other locations of the Buenos Aires province reported the presence of rain and eventual sleet.
Overnight, sleet also hit Saladillo, 9 de Julio, Lincoln, Pehuajó and San Miguel del Monte at the Buenos Aires province.
The SMN informed sleet is expected for the next days and temperatures are expected to remain low.
