'I'd like to assist Messi once again,' Riquelme
Boca Juniors’ Juan Román Riquelme admitted he wishes to “assist Lionel Messi once again”, and considered the Barcelona FC's striker as “the best player of the world”, showing that the playmaker is willing to wear Argentina’s national football team’s shirt again.
“It would be a real pleasure, why wouldn’t I like to pass the ball to the best player of the world?” Riquelme answered when he was asked if he would like to play with Messi again during an interview by former teammate Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya for Spain's Sports radio Marca.
Riquelme, absent in the Argentine team’s players list despite going through an excellent moment, assured that his priority in this moment of his career is Boca, but did not hide his desire to share the field with “cracks” as Messi or Sergio “Kun” Agüero.
“I’d like to play with them. I’ve already shared matches and had a great time. I enjoy my club day by day, then we’ll see, If I can’t play the World Cup I’ll go to see it with my kids”, the playmaker concluded.
