Santos eliminate Vélez after penalties' definition
Brazil's Santos ousted Argentina's Vélez Sársfield from the Libertadores de América Cup after a penalty definition. The second leg ended 1-0 after Kardec scored, as the aggregate score ended 1-1.
Kardec netted the only goal of the second leg, while Obolo had scored Vélez goal during the first leg. This aggregate result led to a penalties definition in which the Argentine team was defeated by 4-2. Santos has now reached the semis.
The match for the second leg of the quarter-finals was held at the Urbano Caldeira stadium located at the Vila Belmiro neighbourhood.
