Debate over BA province tax reform fails to reach agreement
The session that intended to debate the Buenos Aires province tax reform once again failed to gather to begin the discussion in the provincial Lower House after the ruling party failed to come to an agreement with the opposition.
Despite an 8-hour debate, neither part could agree with the other.
All parties have agreed to retake the debate next week.
“We advanced slightly but then everything got bogged down,” house sources admitted.
During the discussions on Thursday, the opposition had suggested that the tax revaluation is carried out in stages, as it happened in the Santa Fe province. They also advocated for the elimination of gross income in the cooperative organizations.
During the negotiations, many concentrated across the street from the provincial Legislature in order to protest the measure.
