Multiple protests on main routes entering the city of Buenos Aires and downtown area complicated traffic flow on Thursday afternoon, in addition to the effects of the subway strike. Along the 9 de Julio Avenue, two sectors were blocked off, including the intersection with Santa Fe Avenue and Avenida de Mayo.

Since early this morning, Ceamse workers blocked off the Buen Ayre route into the city, causing long tailbacks on the Pan American highway into the city.

In addition, another group of protestors blocked off part of the General Paz motorway at the junction of Riccheri.

The protests amounted to an afternoon of citywide traffic chaos that only went back to normal after rush hour in the evening.
