BA province farming producers call on new strike against tax reform
The Buenos Aires and La Pampa Rural Associations Confederation (CARBAP) and the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) called for a new halt in grain and cattle trading from Wednesday to Sunday in Buenos Aires province in protest of the provincial tax reform.
They also called all farm workers to join a march on Wednesday morning in La Plata in order to express their rejection to the Tax Reform bill that is expected to be discussed at the provincial Lower House.
The bill, which has already been preliminary approved by the provincial Senate, looks to “excessively increase rural property tax, and to reevaluate the land’s fiscal value in an abusive way that bears no relation to its productive capability,” the organizations said in a joint press release.
