11-year-old girl found dead in a river, Mendoza province

An 11-year-old girl was found dead last night, in the area of Tunuyán, Mendoza Province, after drowning in a river. Police said the girls body showed signs of rape and that two family members were arrested in connection to the murder.

According to police, the girl’s boy was found late last night by a fisherman who saw her floating in the Tunuyán river, close to the centre of town, some 90km from Mendoza capital.

Early police reports suggest that the girl was kidnapped from her house, raped and killed on the river bank, close to where she was found.
