Foreign tourism drops 1.3% in March

The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during March dropped 1.3 percent compared to the same month in 2011, and totalled 234,330 people, while the Argentine citizens that travelled abroad climbed 13.2 percent, according to a government report.
The Indec national statistics bureau said that the expense of tourists was of 299.1 million dollars, dropping 3.7 percent in the third month of the year.
Meanwhile, Argentine tourists' expenses abroad reached 324.7 million dollars, 38.8 percent higher than the volume registered in the same month last year.
The information is gathered from the arrivals and departures at Ezeiza and Jorge Newbery airports, which are the main routes of access route to Argentina.
