Binner: 'Hollande's victory brings hopes of global change'
The leader of Argentina’s Broad Progressive Front (FAP), Hermes Binner, said in France that Francois Hollande’s victory in the French presidential elections on Sunday “brings hopes of global change.”
The former Santa Fe governor attended the celebrations of the French Socialist Party (PSF) in Paris after Hollande’s big win.
“Hollande’s victory brings hopes of global change,” he said in the headquarters of the Socialist Party in France, according to a press release.
Binner joined the secretary general of the Socialist Party, Martine Aubry, during the election run-off that took place this Sunday in France. The Belgian Primer Minister, Elio Di Rupo, was also present.
Binner acknowledged his “great happiness” over Hollande’s victory, which he says will bring a positive change in the world.
“Socialist ideas have always put first the values of solidarity, participation and transparency,” he said from Paris.
From the PSF headquarters located on Rue de Solferino, in Paris, Binner said that “the presence of Latin American socialist leaders in the French elections reaffirms the need to look within socialism for a way out of the crisis we’re currently living in.”
