Hundreds take part in ‘Global Marihuana March’ across Argentina
Hundreds of people across Buenos Aires and main provincial cities participated today in the ‘Global Marihuana March,’ demanding the decriminalization of the drug, which also took place in 200 cities around the world.
Armed with signs and singing songs, the demonstrators marched to the National Congress, moving through the heart of Buenos Aires, showing their support for marihuana consumption to be legalized.

The march began in the United States in 1999, and was picked up in Argentina in 2006 and has been carried out every year since.
The demonstrations were also being carried out in: Bahía Blanca, Bariloche, Comodoro Rivadavia, Córdoba, El Bolsón, Formosa, General Roca, La Plata, La Rioja, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Neuquén, Oberá, Paraná, Resistencia, Río Grande, Rosario, Salta, Catamarca, San Juan, San Luis, Tucumán, Jujuy, Santa Fe, Santiago del Estero, Trelew, Venado Tuerto and Ushuaia.
