Official Gazette
Extension of delegated powers official

Law 26.519 was published in the official gazette, after it had been approved by the Senate last week and the Lower House beforehand. Decree 1124, signed by the President, was also published. The decree enacts the law's guidelines.

President of both Congress Houses signed the law. According to the text, those legislative powers - which are delegated from the Congress to the Government and allow the executive branch to take decisions in some specific administrative and public emergency matters - are extended for a year, starting August 24.

The law also announces the creation of a bicameral committee whose mission will be to "revise, study, compile and analyze" all of the delegated powers and to give its conclusions to the Presidents of the Lower and Upper House, before June 30, 2010.
