Fight against criminality in the BA province
BA Security Council holds first meeting

Buenos Aires province governor Daniel Scioli today opened the first gathering of the province's Security Council, where he asserted that "the police alone can't improve security". He told reporters his administration had a "comprehensive vision" of the issue and called for joint efforts with the police.

The governor asked the police to "be very rigorous and severely punish those who don't respect the law." He also thanked the provincial legislature for approving reforms to the provincial criminal code.

"The worst disappointment a policeman can have is when he stops a dangerous criminal and he sees the criminal released only a few days later," Scioli said.

Scioli added that "education and work are the central cornerstones of integration," and explained that to help this aim of integration, "important investments in infrastructures are needed."

The Provincial Security Council was created in 2003, but it was the first time the Council held a meeting regarding regional policies, following the demands of the head of the Social and Civil Accord in the province, Margarita Stolbizer.
