Senator and former first lady Hida ‘Chiche' Duhalde said Buenos Aires Governor Daniel Scioli has a "broken wing" after the government's defeat in June's midterm elections, and warned that his administration would "become increasingly hard in the future."

Hilda Duhalde, wife of former caretaker president Eduardo Duhalde, is one of the most visible heads with the dissident Peronism, opposed to the official branch led by ex-president Néstor Kirchner. Scioli, who had run for Congress representing the pro-government  Victory Front in a move to gather support for the Kirchnerites, is seen as one of the main losers after the Kirchnerites lost to the dissident Peronists of Unión-PRO by a narrow margin.

"I see that Scioli has a broken wing. If he fails to put his foot down and start demanding what his province deserves, gathering the support of the most important political leaders in the province, his administration will find growing challenges in the future," said Hilda Duhalde, whose husband, Eduardo, is believed to have a strong influence over the Peronism in Buenos Aires province, Argentina's largest district.

Talking to reporters on a radio in the City, Hilda Duhalde reported that her husband "is holding meetings with ‘the entire Peronism' in Buenos Aires, and asserted that "when the time comes, they will start converging toward certain leaderships."
