In televised declarations, lawmaker Carlos Raimundoi said that it is "incredible to observe how certain sectors known for being insensitive towards the social situation pretend today to be worried about poverty," and said that he is sorry that "certain political parties agree with these sectors."

Raimundi also held that it is necessary to make revisions and hold controls with regards to the powers delegated by the National Congress to the Executive Branch, but added that "you can not deny the Government the control over international commerce politics."

In this sense, Raimundi said that during times when international prices fluctuate and the "markets evolve and there is financial speculation, these measures should be in the hands of the Executive Branch."

The lawmaker from Solidaridad e Igualdad forms part of the Budget Committee and integrates an alliance made up of more than a dozen lawmakers from the centre left branch of politics.
