Guillermo Montenegro, the Buenos Aires city Security Minister, said it was a "misleading comment" to say that the City government was trying to "criminalize" demonstrations and insisted on that ‘Fino' Palacios was "the best person to head the Metropolitan Police." HE added that the reunion was a "gesture made by the City government."

"We want the law to be followed and that all of us can travel peacefully within the city," said the official after holding a reunion with Justice, Security and Human Right national Minister Julio Alak. The two men agreed on forming a commission with members from both national and city representatives, to find agreements on key issues.
