PUBLIC ENEMIES (Enemigos públicos). They say that it was the movies that actually killed the famous US gangster John Dillinger, a bank robber during the 1930s’ Depression. Indeed, there have been at least two big screen versions: Dillinger (Max Nosseck, 1945, with Edmund Lowe); and Dillinger (John Milius, 1973, starring Warren Oates). LA GRAINE ET LE MULET (Cous cous, la gran cena). Yet another movie about gastronomic flavours and exotic cuisine, this is the story of an Asian migrant in France. Aged 60 and fed up with his line of job, he decides to set up a restaurant specializing in Arab food, the main dish of which will be its own version of the famous “cous cous.” (France, 2007, in French, Arabic and Russian with Spanish-language subtitles).
