Area prosecutor ordered the search
Avellaneda: Police station raided in drug and firearm investigation

The Dock Sud Police Station was raided during a drug-related investigation, where the location of 13 kilograms of drugs and eight firearms that were taken by the station is being investigated.

Police sources informed that this occurred at the Debenedeti location, in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Avellaneda.

The order to search the station was given by the Avellanda prosecutor, Mariela Bonafine, who is in charge of the case.

During the proceedings, the Security Ministry's Internal Affairs group also intervened.

According to sources, Bonafine is investigating where these drugs and firearms are now located after they were taken by the Dock Sud station between 2005 and 2006.

Investigarors looked through documents which detail where these items, that were once placed in a safe, are now located.

Spokesmen that were asked to comment explained that, because of the investigation, Captain Hugo Brullo was asked to take leave from his duties.

Thus, investigators will count on the Federal Justice Branch in Lomas de Zamora, where they will go through documents and try to find these items.
