How to distinguish between a regular flu and influenza A?
• Fever: Regular flu, or a cold, can raise the body temperature to 39 degrees Celsius gradually. Influenza A, also known as swine flu, leads to a sudden increase in the temperature, normally above 39 degrees.
• Swine flu has a persistent dry cough.
• Headaches are much stronger with influenza A, as well as muscular pains and sore eyes.
• While chills are less frequent with regular colds, or flu, they are constant with swine flu.
• Tiredness and fatigue are more pronounced with the new virus.
• Sore throats are less painful with swine flu
• Mucus is less common with influenza A
