The Merval benchmark index dropped 0.1 percent, and stood at 1579,30 points, after rising for three consecutive sessions.

The greenback remained stable and is traded for 3.81 / 3.78 pesos in exchange bureaus in downtown Buenos Aires.

The Brazilian Bovespa meanwhile rose 0.8 percent and stood at 51.780,71 points.
