Rally in Buenos Aires city of ChivilcoyFriday, October 22, 2010
'We managed to restructure Argentina's debt in the worst year for global economy,' CFK
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner led a rally in Chivilcoy district and delivered a speech to commemorate the 156th anniversary of the city's foundation. She highly praised her administration's policies, highlighting "the Government is delivering justice and equity for everyone." "We have to trust this Argentina that is growing at a pace it has never recorded before," the Head of State added.
"We managed to create over 2 million job vacancies since 2003," the President added. And highlighted that her administration "had managed to restructure Argentina's debt in the worst year for global economy."
To deepen that point, the Head of State said: "A debt had never been restructured so dramatically," while criticizing that "those who had played tricks on our economy were to be the ones taking care of this situation, but, instead, my administration was responsible for doing so."
Fernández de Kirchner blasted opposition once more: "Thank God I did not cool down the economy, for if I had done it, we would be in the ice age, so that is why I say thank God I used Central Bank reserves to prevent Argentina from deepening its debt."
Likewise, the President talked about the "government gaining back the pensioners' system management," and described it as "not an act of magic, but a political decision to give back the people what it has always been the people's."
"I do not want any Argentine citizen to be considered a stupid person anymore, and I'm working hard for the country to improve," Fernández de Kirchner concluded.
She was escorted by former president Néstor Kirchner, Buenos Aires Province Governor Daniel Scioli, Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo and Chivilcoy's Mayor Aníbal Pittelli.
