UNASUR presidents analyse situation in Ecuador

Uruguayan President José "Pepe" Mujica arrives in Buenos Aires City.

Latin American presidents travelled to Buenos Aires City to attend a Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) extraordinary session, which began during the late night hours, in order to analyse the situation lived in Ecuador, where an attempt at a coup d'état failed. President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner inaugurated the meeting and announced that a document would be emitted once the gathering concluded.

The encounter was earlier confirmed by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. The first presidents to arrive were José "Pepe" Mujica (Uruguay), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Alan García (Peru), and Sebastián Piñera (Chile). Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and Chávez were expected to arrive around 2 am.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was absent due to upcoming elections in his country.
