After a forgiveable season
Boca takes Basile as new coach
Alfio Basile will take charge as the new Boca Juniors' coach within the next hours after his agent came to a final agreement with the club's Soccer Manager Carlos Bianchi.
Basile will be presented in a press conference on next week most likely according to club's representatives.
Boca Juniors President Jorge Amor Ameal sent a letter to Argentine Football Association's (AFA) president Julio Grondona to offer the club's facilities or the two qualifiers game left in the tough road to South Africa world cup 2010.
After controversial comments made by Diego Maradona during Argentina's last home game against Colombia referring to River Plate's poor field conditions, the AFA has asked the FIFA to change next game location to Rosario Central' stadium in the province of Santa Fe, but negotiations failed after sponsors claimed to keep River stadium at least for the derby against Brazil considering its large capacity, plus sources revealed that Rosario Central' stadium does not meet all the FIFA requirements for this kind of matches.
Argentina has four qualifiers ahead -Paraguay and Uruguay away-, and Brazil and Perú at home. Next game will be held in September when the side coached by Diego Maradona will face Brazil.
