Cerati undergoes new surgery

Musician Gustavo Cerati.

Musician Gustavo Cerati, who has been hospitalized at Fleni Clinic since May after suffering an ischemic attack while performing in Venezuela, underwent surgery once again, according to a medical report issued by the clinic's medical director, Claudio E. Pensa.

The medical report states: "Pacient Gustavo Cerati has undergone surgery to treat the hydrocephalus profile related to his hemispheric stroke. The current situation continues to be critical and he remains in a coma."

The document also states that new medical reports are to be issued only if there are any pertinent changes in his condition and if his family members authorize it.

In days past, the musician's family members asked fans to "avoid taking rumours or malicious publications seriously," and they assured that Gustavo is receiving "spiritual help" and that he is "very well taken care of."

"Between so many good wishes and people's positive energy, us and Gustavo's natural force, we believe and trust that his health will slowly improve," the family highlighted in a communiqué published on the musician's website.

Cerati, who mid-May suffered an ischemic attack, receives "spiritual help" and "good background music" at the Fleni Clinic, where he remains hospitalized, his family also wrote.
