Tennis world number -one player Rafael Nadal dismissed rumours that he could be spared from the Wimbledon tournament this year due to a knee injury.

"I will give 200 percent in order to be at my 100 percent at the most important event of international tennis. I wont go to any court - and Wimbledon in particular - to see what happens, if I go there I'll give a 100 percent," said Nadal today in his official web page.

The world's number one player, lost two weeks ago in the French Open to Robin Soderling 6-2, 6-7 (2/7), 6-4, 7-6 (7/2).

Last week, his uncle and trainer, Toni Nadal, had announced the world's top tennis player would not play in Queens this year and said he was considering not participating in the 2009 edition of the British Open because of a knee injury.
