After weekly Central Bank survey yesterday
IMF may raise Brazil 2010 GDP growth view

The International Monetary Fund may raise its 2010 economic growth forecast for Brazil because of a rapid recovery from a brief recession last year, the fund's deputy director, Murilo Portugal, said.

The IMF, which currently estimates 5.5 percent growth for Brazil this year, would become the latest institution to raise forecasts for Brazil's economic expansion.

"It is possible that we will revise the projections. In the case of Brazil, the number could be bigger," Portugal said.
