Former President and current congressional candidate Néstor Kirchner said that although Argentina does not follow Venezuela's political model, it would be imprudent to side with the businesses and opposition members that do not want to include the country in the Mercosur block.

Kirchner said that the requests to exclude Venezuela are contradictory, coming at a time when the OAS, for example, wants to allow Cuba back into the organization.

Kirchner also said that, in response to Hugo Chávez' nationalizing Argentine businesses in Venezuela, the current President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will fight for the best economic solution.
