Voters cast their ballots in Uruguay's provincial elections.
The voting process in Uruguay ended for the provincial elections held in Argentina's neighbour country, where 19 governors and 89 mayors were be chosen. It is expected that Ana Olivera, from the communist party, will be chosen as the first female governor in that country.
The voting process was carried out without incidents and voting sites closed at 7:30 p.m. local time, as predicted by the Electoral Court.
It is estimated that around 90 percent of the more than 2.5 registered voters cast their ballots.
More than 90 candidates from five political parties, which include Frente Amplio, Blanco y Colorado, Partido Independiente and Asamblea Popular, fought for political posts within the departments that make up the country's system.
