Farmers indicted after violent demonstration
Seven farmers of Santa Fe province were indicted on charges of "damage and aggression" after they attacked the head of the government's caucus in Congress, Agustín Rossi, in a demonstration on February 2, judicial source reported.
The decision was ordered by a criminal judge in Santa Fe.
Rossi was attacked by farmers, who protested against the government's farming policies, in front of the municipality of Laguna Paiva. Protesters hurled stones and eggs at the lawmaker's car. Rossi was not injured during the incidents.
According to the lawsuit, Rossi's brother Alejandro Rossi was injured during the violent clashes.
