‘Worker registration in private sector highest since 1974,’ CFK
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner assured the amount of worker registration in the private sector set a new record this year in Argentina. She also announced improvements for retired citizens and pensioners.
"This is the highest worker registration in the private sector since 1974," she said during a ceremony in the Government House, in which she also expressed "that benefits obtained during her administration respond to the setting in motion of a model that created work like never before."
In that sense, she highlighted the "incredible standards for social protection," that help Argentina become "an advanced country in Latin America," and assured the national government "would keep working to make sure the economy keeps growing."
President Fernández de Kirchner recalled when they "decided to end the AFJP private pension funds and recovered resources that belonged to the working people that would now be managed by the public sector."
"We have recovered all these things because of a political and economical model. Those decisions were taken here, in this Government House," she expressed, and brought up other controversial measures in the 80's and 90's, that involved "freezing salaries " and "income privatization."
