Hyundai Motor Argentina has announced the arrival of the Hyundai i10. This new model will come with whole new equipment meant to revolutionize the small cars segment.

The i10 offers plenty of comfort, storage and versatility. Streetwise, nippy and surprisingly spacious, the irresistible i10 comes equipped for the city and more. Boasting the longest wheelbase in its class and with three rear seats, you can pack more into the i10. Air conditioning comes as standard across the range, along with front and front side airbags and a fully integrated audio system for tunes on the move.

Its estimated price (from US$13,900 to US$15,400 and 3-yr warranty) will make the i10 the less expensive car in the Argentine market to come with Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), and front airbags.
When it comes down to safety, the i10's offers advance options that make a final pack  rarely seen within  the local market vehicles. The i10 includes 3 x 3 point seatbelts for its five folding seats, five adjustable head supports, height adjustable headlights (anti-fog) as well anti-fog tail-lights and engine immobilizer management system (EMS) to ensure that only the original key can be used to start the car.

The machine's Kappa 4 Cylinder 16V DOHC 1.2L engine can deliver 78HP and a great torque that combined offer excellent performance at very low consumption.

It took 48 months to develop the 1.2L engine with an investment of US$400 million. Hyundai will be using this same engine for the i20 model.

The powerful Kappa engine makes the i10 an ideal vehicle for long distance trips and not just for urban driving.

Comfort seems to have been a great priority for Hyundai. The i10 comes equipped with air conditioning, front electric windows, central locking, AM/FM radio, CD player, MP3 compatibility, an auxiliary input and six speakers, ISOfix child seat anchorage, height adjustable steering column, height adjustable driver's seat, three 60:40 split and totally flat floor folding seats in the back to offer great storage space.

Hyundai Motor Argentina Marketing Director, Ernesto Cavicchioli remarked that "even with the high import tax rates (35.5%) the company is paying, we'll continue with our philosophy to offer high standards of safety and quality in Argentina, like we do in Europe."

Cavicchioli also said some words about the i10's Kappa engine: "It will definitely position itself as the new pier point for the small cars segment", and added, "our role is to help out the local production and offer the highest driving and safety conditions for a reasonable price."
