Desábato, from Estudiantes de La Plata, scored the only goal of the game in Montevideo against home side Defensor Sporting in minute 12 of the first half.

Angeleri(24') from Estudiantes and Curbelo(24') from Defensor Sporting recieved a red card and were expelled from the game and Verón from Estudiantes(27') recieved a yellow card during the first half.

The game took place at mythical Centenario Stadium -home of the first World Cup in 1930. Next game will be the second leg of Libertadores Cup quarterfinals on June 18 at the Ciudad de La Plata stadium at 9.15 pm.

Estudiantes is the only Argentine team left in competition after a total of five entered the tournament.
