Plea to be trialed in Holland denied
'Death flights' pilot to be extradited to Argentina
The Hague tribunal rejected "death flights" pilot Julio Alberto Poch's request to be trialed in the Netherlands.
Poch, currently detained in Spain, is now awaiting extradition to Argentina, where he will be trialed for his involvement in the "death flights" carried out during the last argentine dictatorship.
"We have decided to reject his request to be trialed here", expressed the tribunal.
Poch was arrested in Valencia, Spain, last september while working for the dutch airline Transavia, by request of the argentine justice, whose extradition demands were promptly granted by the spanish government.
Poch, with a dual citizenship, both argentinean and dutch, had requested to be trialed in Holland but now that his request has been denied he will be extradited to Argentina.
