Boca Juniors beat Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata 4-0 during an Apertura Tournament soccer game. The game was played at the Bombonera Stadium. Boca, led by Alfio Basile, needed a win in order to qualify for the Libertadores Cup, although they have been left far from the possibility of winning the current tournament.

Gary Medel scored for Boca at the 16 th minute of the first half, and Federico Insúa scored at the 43rd minute of the first half. Insúa scored again during the second hald at the 22nd minute. At the 38th minute of the second half, Nicolás Gaitán scored for Boca.
