Barcelona have informed Real Zaragoza that there is no chance of them re-signing Gabriel Milito after he recovered from a long-term injury because he is wanted at Camp Nou, according to the player's representative.

Zaragoza made an enquiry about the defender's availability and were advised to look elsewhere as Pep Guardiola sees the Argentine as an important part of his squad.

Milito joined Barca in 2007 after four years with Zaragoza and made 27 appearances before suffering a knee ligament injury in May 2008 that saw him miss the whole of last season.

Having battled back to fitness, Milito is close to a return to action and that attracted the interest of Marcelinho at La Romareda, but Barcelona are adamant he is staying.

"Yes, Zaragoza asked if there is the possibility of a transfer," Milito's agent, Eduardo Gamarnik, told reporters.
