Political crisis
Zelaya inisists Hondurans refute the election
Ousted President Manuel Zelaya assured that the November 29 election will cover up the coup, while the de facto president told him he should designate his representatives for the government of national unity.
The electoral process "without political agreement is illegal and violates the voter's rights because it hides the coup de stat Honduras is living in, I beg the people to be aware of the situation, to refute and denounce this electoral fraud" said Zelaya, who was ousted on June 28 and is currently living at Brazil's embassy in Tegucigalpa.
The ousted president announced this after the sub-secretary of occidental affairs, Craig Kelly, visited Tegucigalpa and supported the election because he believes it could help to solve the political crisis.
Meanwhile, the de facto President Roberto Micheletti told Zelaya to designate those who will represent him at the national unity government agreed in the Tegucigalpa-San José accord signed by both presidents to overcome the crisis, reported the government in a statement.
Nevertheless, Zelaya assured that the contract is not reliable because the government would be headed by Micheletti. The agreement also stated that Congress would decide if Zelaya will be reinstated or not, but the Legislative branch summoned a session for December 2, two days after the election.
The Electoral Supreme Court reported that the organization of the election is almost finished and that it would be a transparent and secure process.
