Video shows Antonini Wilson visited Gov't House
A Federal Court in Buenos Aires received a video from the state-run TV channel allegedly proving that Venezuelan businessman Guido Alejandro Antonini Wilson was at Government House two days after trying to enter the country, in August 2007, with a briefcase that held US$800.000, which was retained at the airport.
Judicial sources reported that criminal judge for economic affairs Daniel Petrone received a video from Channel 7 showing Antonini Wilson at Government House. A few months ago, in an interview, Wilson said before a court in Miami that he had been at Government House, but that he had not talked to any government officials: "I saw a couple of them and from there I left to go to a dinner."
"I was very surprised to be at Government House. Victoria Beresiuk [Claudio Uberti's secretary, ex leader of Occovi] took me there. I was very impressed, because I thought there was no security," said Antonini of how simple it was to enter Government House.
Antonini also clarified that he went with Uberti, who told him he had nothing to worry about, but he said that from that point on no one from the Argentine government contacted him again.
However, until this moment, the government had always denied Wilson's presence at Balcarce 50. On August 4, 2007, the Venezuelan had entered the country on a private jet hired by the state-run company ENARSA along with other Argentine officials, among them the then chief of OCCOVI road management Claudio Uberti, who lost his job due to his ties to Wilson.
When he arrived at customs, they discovered US$800.000 in Wilson's briefcase which, according to what one of his Venezuelan partner's testified later, were for "Crisitina's campaign," something the government denied many times. Even though thousands of dollars were found, the man was not arrested because it was originally only considered a customs infraction and not smugglig.
