Firefighters continue to watch over the affected areas in the province.

The fires in Córdoba Province have started up again in the area of Ongamira, about 110 kilometers from the city of Córdoba. The fire is part of a string of fires that started up last week after a lightening bolt hit the area during a storm.

Marcelo Colombatti, director of the Provincial Plan for Fire Control, said to a national news agency that "the fires have started up again" and that they are "more than 300 firefighters are working in the area to fight it, with the help of firefighter planes."

Colombatti said that "more than 30 people have been evacuated in the area, who left due to the intense smoke caused by the fire," although they "have already returned to their homes to face other types of consequences."

In the rest of the region, "the fires have been placed under control and some sectors are still being looked over, such as Copacabana, Villa Albertina and Villa Colimba."

"We are alert, although it is impossible to go through the entire perimeter. Vigilance planes are also being used," he said.
