Gov't closes airplane-less airline
The government will close state-run airline LAFSA, which had been created in 2003 to absorb the employees of Southern Winds but never had any airplanes.
In resolution ordering the dissolution of the company was published in today's Official Gazzete, the authorities said the company should be closed within the next 180 days.
Lafsa was created in May 2003 to keep the jobs of the employees of Southern Winds after the private company declared bankruptcy.
"Lafsa's employees had the choice to joining the lines of another airline (Aerolíneas Argentinas), and most of its staff has left the company," the resolution says.
