Pablo Pérsico to remain free pending trial
Pablo Pérsico, the son of the pro-government picket leader Emilio Pérsico, was released after being arrested for transporting drugs two weeks ago. Pérsico's lawyer, Fernando Roldán, asserted that he expected such a judicial decision and that the legal process would go on, but with his client being free.
"This is what we have been asking for since the second day after (Pablo Pérsico) was arrested," Roldán highlighted after confirming his client was being released. The lawyer said he was very confident about demonstrating that his client was not involved in any felony.
On October 19, Pablo Pérsico was arrested by the police as he was found transporting six marijuana plants in a pick-up truck belonging to the Social Security Ministry. His father immediately filed his resignation as Deputy-Secretary of Commercialization of the Social Development Ministry.
