Néstor Kirchner assured the public today in the Buenos Aires district of Zárate that "Argentina had millions of dollars in debt because of the need to maintain the peso and the dollar at an even level. Businesses transferred everything to other countries and our nation became indebted."

Kirchner also said that "we have recovered many state businesses and generated millions of jobs." Also, funds previously used as retiree money helped regenerate the internal capital market.

All of this was said today by the candidate and ex-president, who reiterated that he and his party were not intervening in the economy but were instead supervising how Argentina's money is being used.

Relating his speech to the internal market, Kirchner pressed upon the importance of "consolidating work in Argentina and developing the industry."

Kirchner, in addition, made indirect references to current vice-president Julio Cobos, saying that it is important for a president to feel that their cabinet and those in the political vicinity are supportive. "Cristina is not as lucky as I was," Kirchner said, making reference to Cobos and his supposed lack of support for the party and its tactics.
