In Santa Fe province
Argentina beats Panama 3-1
This friendly game has been played in Colon's Stadium in Santa Fe city, province of Santa Fe. It's the result of Maradona's dream of having a domestic national team made up exclusively of local players.
As Maradona promised, every single player of the team had their chance to play in this game.
Left footed Defederico (27') opened the score with a crossing shot but Panamanean Barahona (29') tied things up and brought a dead silent to the crowds at Colon's Stadium also known as the Elephant´s Cemetery.
Ten minutes after, Gonzalo Bergessio, man of the match, netted (40') and brought relief before the end of the first half.
Second half showed Maradona´squad pushing forward constantly. This change of attitude was rewarded when once again Bergessio scored with five minutes remaining.
