Minister of Production Débora Giorgi said today that the "International Monetary Fund is useless in the face of the economic crisis."

On another note, the Minister of Economy, Carlos Fernández, and the executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America, Alicia Bárcena, analyzed today in Buenos Aires the socioeconomic situation in the region and "in particular the role of multilateral loaner organisms."

The Local Industry Development Sector was presented today at a meeting, where Giorgi made these declarations. She emphasized that the IMF puts emphasis on the trade surplus without analyzing long-term effects.
