Mitre Avenue blocked
Police bar demonstrators from protesting on Pueyrredón bridge
Officers of the Buenos Aires province police were blocking the access of left-wing demonstrators to the Pueyrredón Bridge linking Buenos Aires city with the provincial district of Avellaneda.
Protesters said the demonstration aimed at supporting the workers of Kraft Foods and press the US-company to rehire employees who were dismissed from the company's plant in General Pacheco.
Although the demonstrators were not allowed to stage their protest on the bridge, the Mitre Avenue in Avellaneda remained blocked as a result of the protest.
Last week, Buenos Aires Governor Daniel Scioli said he might use force to prevent any roadblocks on the bridge, the main pathway connecting BA city with the southern neighbourhoods of Greater Buenos Aires.
