After Bogado re-enters plant
Kraft ordered to reinstate three workers
A labour court in Buenos Aires ordered Kraft Foods to allow three of the fired leaders of the shop stewards' union who had been suspended by the US-company to resume their tasks at the firm's plant in Pacheco. The decision of the court echoed a previous ruling ordering Kraft to allow union delegate Ramón Bogado to return to the factory.
Workers are demanding that the company rehires all workers who were dismissed during three months of protests, including leaders of the shop stewards' union, who the company refuses to take back.
As the leaders of the trade union entered the Labour Ministry in La Plata to resume negotiations with representatives of the company today, they said they were "optimistic" about reaching a solution, but they warned that they would not accept a solution other than the full rehiring of the workers.
Earlier today, students of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) staged a picket at the intersection of Callao and Corrientes Avenues to support laid-off workers of Kraft Foods, only hours before representatives of the US-based company would resume negotiations with trade unionists.
