Fractious union blamed
Metrovías denounces subway wagon fire was 'intentional'
Metrovías reported today that the fire in a D line subway wagon last Monday, October 21, was "intentional," and blamed the fractious union. The railway company summoned the union leaders to testify.
"Taking into consideration the characteristics of the burnt wagon, the testimonies of the employees, the security camera videos, the photographs, and the technical and expert reports developed, Metrovías concludes that the fire was intentionally caused," said company spokespersons.
According to the company, the fire was produced in the wagon FIAT that has no traction motors, "which sensibly reduces the presence of electric and cable circuits." "The only electrical equipment it has is a continuous current compressor which counts with a protection that cuts the electricity during an abnormality."
Metrovías said that "strikingly," the same day the fire was produced, another took place, hours later, in the E line.
Before a situation like this, the National Criminal Instruction Prosecution 4, in charge of Cristina Camaño Iglesias Paiz, and Metrovías asked the ex delegates to be "summoned to testify," who, due to protests that have been carried out, "count with relevant information regarding the fire."
