President CFK receives Chilean independent presidential candidate
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner met in her office with the Chilean independent presidential candidate, Marco Enrique Ominami.
Marcos Enríque-Ominami asked the President to accept his proposal for Chile and Argentina to organize together for the 2026 Soccer World Cup.
"The President received the proposal with certain sympathy," mentioned the candidate, who is third in the surveys after officalist Eduardo Frey and conservative Sebastián Piñera.
"We talked for about an hour about all of the region's problems and about common interests between Argentines and Chileans, and I guaranteed that I will govern under the idea that not everything that is good for the United States is good for Chile," he said.
The deputy was accompanied by a group of lawmakers from Chile who support his candidacy and he was led into the meeting with Cristina Fernández de Kirchner by Chancellor Jorge Taiana.
Enríquez-Ominami said that "the surveys put us in a good place."
The president also received Peter Gruss, head of Max Planck, an institute of Biomedicine Investigations, where neuroscience and other studies take place.
The organism is currently integrated by various institutes considered centres of excellence at a global level. Also, it is the most important independent scientific entity in Germany and, since its foundation in 1949 17 of its investigators have received the Nobel Prize.
