After US Open win
Del Potro returns to Argentina
US Open Champion, Juan Martín del Potro, arrived to Ministro Pistarini International airport in Ezeiza at 10.25 and was welcomed by hundreds of fans and close to 50 journalists.
The reigning champ will head to his home town Tandil -500 kilometers from Buenos Aires City- where he will be rallied around the city on a firefighters' truck.
Del Potro's victory made a huge impact around the world. Newspapers praised the Argentine talented player, who was even invited to US TV shows to share his triumph (see video).
David Nalbandián, who has some short circuits with del Potro in the past, couldn't avoid to mention that "What Martín did, is a huge victory for the Argentine tennis. He showed the world that there are no impossible goals."
Nalbandián, who's still recovering from surgical intervention, remarked that "After my generation of players there was a gap that no other new players could fill in, but now Juan Martín rised as the most representative player of his new generation."
"Del Potro probed to be a fantastic player and the necessary courage to face a Grand Slam final against the best player of the world".
• Angry reaction to host who refused to let Del Potro speak in Spanish
• World media surrender to Delpo
