The Radical Party (UCR), the Civic Coalition bloc and Unión PRO ratified their rejection towards the Broadcasting Bill despite the additional changes the government introduced, at the Lower House of Congress.

Unión PRO deputy elect Francisco De Narváez said that this bill is part of "Néstor Kirchner's re election plan" for 2011 presidential election and denounced that "the lack of time that the opposition lawmakers were given" to analyze the modifications shows "they are trying to oblige parliamentary minorities to participate."

De Narváez added that "Kirchnerite's intentions are to have an exaggerated influence over the mass media" and warned that "during the year before the election they will renew over 260 broadcasting licenses."

Unión PRO's Federico Pinedo said that "the government wants to pass the bill as soon as possible. This shows what they are up to."

Juan Carlos Morán from the Civic Coalition bloc added that "some modifications turned out to be clearly poor."

Meanwhile, UCR's lawmaker Silvana Giudici said the Bill was made "by a group of friends" and added that the authority's modification still does not change "because the directors will be designated by the government."
