$10M granted to unauthorized feedlot
Gov't probes alleged irregularities in subsidies
The ONCCA farm trade control agency is investigating into irregularities in the payment of 10 million pesos in subsidies to a feedlot company that had not been officially authorized, said Emilio Eyras, head of the ONCCA.
Eyras was reacting to a press report published by a local daily saying there were irregularities in the allocation of governmental aid for feedlot Paseo Lagunas SA, which has a farm in Carlos Casares, Buenos Aires province, as the company has only a provisional authorization of the ONCCA.
On August 21, Eyras signed two resolutions, published later in the Official Gazette, authorizing compensations to the Paseo Lagunas, and sister company Paso de las Lagunas sociedad de hecho. The companies are owned by Osvaldo Cantisani, Jorge Cerda and José Raposo.
In the registries of the AFIP revenue office, both companies are grain storages, and have only a "provisory authorization" as a feedlot, which was granted in September, a month after the allocation of the 10 million pesos in subsidied.
