Bergoglio warns about increasing inequality in BA City
Buenos Aires Cardinal-Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio said that in Buenos Aires City "live those who fit and those who are not wanted," referring to the poverty in the area. His remarks were made only weeks after Pope Benedict warned of "scandalous poverty in Argentina."
During a mass held in Constitución Square in Constitución neighbourhood, Buenos Aires City, the cardinal also warned about the "white slave trade" and the situation in "illegal workshops." He said that in Buenos Aires City is a "destructive machine."
"In this city we live in they want to weaken us and throw us out. There are slaves in this city, men, women, girls and boys are treated as merchandise. Buenos Aires City must stop crying because it sells its kids" Bergoglio added.
